Standing Seam
Standing Seam is considered to be one of the oldest metal cladding systems and one of the most popular. In recent times, its gained popularity on roofing as well as wall cladding. Whilst it is most commonly used vertically, it is versatile and can be used both horizontally and also vertically.
The required substrate for the standing seam system is:
- A ply substrate which is wrapped in a moisture proof membrane prior to panels being laid.
- The standing seam system requires the use of stainless steel concealed clips, which are used to help fix the
panels over the substrate. - The standing seam system also requires the use of
specialised tools, known as seaming tools, in order to close each seam between
each panel.
